Teen driver killed, passenger critically hurt in Bronx crash
A teen driver was killed and her passenger is clinging to life after their bike slammed into the again of a tow truck within the Bronx, cops stated.
Stephanie Gil, 18, was driving her bike east on Hunts Level Avenue, simply east of Bryant Avenue, Monday in Hunts Level round 9:15 p.m., when she struck the again of a double-parked and unoccupied 2003 Sterling flatbed tow truck, police stated.
Gil and her passenger, a 20-year-old girl, have been thrown from the bike and fell to the bottom, hitting their heads, cops stated.
Neither was carrying a helmet, police sources stated.
Each ladies have been rushed to Lincoln Medical Heart, the place Gil was pronounced lifeless and her passenger stays in vital situation, cops stated.
The connection between the pair was not instantly clear.
